STROOP – journey into the rhino horn war by Bonné de Bod and Susan Scott.
In this wildlife crime thriller, two first time filmmakers embed themselves on the front-lines of the rhino poaching crisis where they are witness to the war unfolding.
Carving out six months to film, the women quickly find themselves immersed in a world far larger and more dangerous than they had imagined, only emerging from their odyssey four years later.
Gaining unprecedented access in Africa and revealing extraordinary undercover footage in Asia, they capture the panorama of the global trade in rhino horn.
Winning 30 awards at 40 film festivals around the world, the film has become critically acclaimed. The world premiere of STROOP was at the 2018 San Francisco Green Film Festival, where it was one of the 26 films selected out of over 300 entries. The judges awarded STROOP with their 2018 “Green Tenacity” award.
The film had its European Premiere at the 2018 Wildlife Film Festival Rotterdam as the opening film of the event. STROOP was also a selection at the San Diego, Santa Cruz, and Glendale International film festivals.
