The Cape Leopard Trust is a non-governmental, non-profit organization engaged in innovative research, conservation and education projects established to facilitate and promote the conservation of biological diversity.

Since its inception in 2004, the CLT has become an authority on predator conservation in the Cape and is one of the leading authorities in South Africa. The CLT uses research as a tool for conservation, using data for finding solutions to human-wildlife conflict. Youth education and interactive exposure to the natural environment is used for inspiring interest in the environment in the “born free” generations. Where the two initiatives intersect is the place where the next generation of conservationists are minted.

Regina Mundi chose the CLT as the recipient of the 2018 Global Scholar award, contributing to their youth education program, and awarded in the 2019, 2020 and 2021 multiple Impact Grant awards for environmental education including the youth book “Footprints in the Fynbos.” Additional donations of funds for “free” books to township learners and technical support for the public messaging around environmental education make up a large part of the Regina Mundi participation.
